About Object Opened

Revealing the systems that power everyday life.

The channel

Object Opened is a teardown channel on TikTok and YouTube. We crack open the devices people use every day — phone chargers, AirPods, iPhones, power banks — and reveal the engineering inside.

Every teardown is a chance to understand how something actually works. Not just the marketing specs, but the real components, the design tradeoffs, the supply chain decisions that determine whether a product is safe, reliable, or neither.

The goal isn't destruction. It's understanding. We open objects so you don't have to.

Where this is going

This site started as a simple answer to the most common comment on every video: "What tools do you use?" But the vision is bigger.

We're building toward:

BOM Database

A public bill-of-materials database for common consumer electronics. Know exactly what's inside before you buy.

Components Map

Interactive teardown maps showing every component, its function, and its relationships to the rest of the system.

Parts & Tools Store

A curated storefront for verified replacement parts and professional-grade tools — no knockoffs, no guesswork.

The creator

Object Opened is created by someone who's always been more interested in how things work than what they cost. With a background in engineering and a habit of taking things apart since childhood, the channel is a natural extension of that curiosity.

Every teardown is researched, filmed, and edited by one person. The focus is on accuracy, clarity, and respect for the engineering — whether it's a $5 charger or a $1,200 phone.
